ABOUT
The Hermitage Museum XXI Century Foundation is a non-profit organization established in Russia for the purpose of supporting and developing the State Hermitage Museum.
The Main goals of the Foundation:
- assistance in development and support of the State Hermitage Museum programs and projects in the sphere of storage, study and public presentation of museum pieces and collections, aimed at preserving and increasing museum valuables and collections, preserving and increasing the museum complex, restoration and recreation of museum objects, particularly the project the Hermitage 20/21;
- participation in elaboration and assistance in promotion of innovative approaches in museum business intended for the preservation and interpretation of the cultural and historical heritage of the country;
- assistance in development and strengthening of the material and technical basis of the State Hermitage Museum, as well as assistance in goals achievement and implementation by the State Hermitage Museum of the main kinds of activities, provided for by its charter.
The Board of Guardians of the Hermitage XXI Century Foundation is headed by Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum, Chairman of Russian Unity of Museums, Deputy Chairman on Culture and Art under the president of the Russian Federation, member of the International Council of Museums, consultant of the European Council, President of the World Wide Club of Petersburgers, President of the St. Petersburg Congress of Intellegentzia.
